Lily is a compassionate sweetheart. She's intellectual and strong-willed, but she has a soft and gentle nature which she puts out towards everyone, which can be a bad thing. She loves humanity, though she despises herself and the life she leads with a passion. There are very few things that make her truly happy, and she rarely ever genuinely smiles. She's idealistic and crazy, which can be the cause of her downfall or her uprising in any situation.
Though she appears either quiet and lighthearted, she's a very deep and emotional person. She constantly puts herself down, and will say horrid things about herself without even noticing she said them. She can go from laughing around to serious in a matter of moments, and she's very willing to tell you when you're wrong. Her dislike of arguing is strong, but she's willing to argue with you if it shows you why she's right, especially if you've pushed one of her buttons and genuinely upset or angered her. She's also very individualistic, and hates the idea of following the crowd in any way.

history: Lily's father died when she was six due to a heart attack, and that was when Lily's life began to go haywire. Her mother seemed to push her towards conformity, and doing things that all the other girls did (such as dance), which is most likely the origin of Lily's individuality. Lily loved her father dearly, and always wears a gold star pendant he had given her on her fourth birthday. Her father and her had both loved stars, which is the origin of the tattoo on her back (that her mom doesn't know about). Lily much prefers swimming competitively to dancing competitively, though she's not permitted to do it. Lily also dislikes school, and rarely pays attention in class. Instead she reads books or writes in her notebook which she forbids people from reading. The notebook is a black book that says "Shoot for the moon, and even if you miss, you'll land among the stars" on it, which was a saying her dad said often. Lily does well in school, she just simply dreads going there. She hopes to major in astrology.
Lily used to love the way she looked, and though she wasn't overly promiscuous, she wasn't afraid to wear a skirt and look good in it. But, in her Freshman year, she dated a senior named Robby Hertin. Robbie constantly put her down and try to force her into things she didn't want to do. It got the the point where he would use physical violence against her, and she still loved him regardless. They dated until halfway into her Sophomore year when he dumped her for a girl he had met in college. Assuming it was because she was ugly, she now despises her body and tries to cover it up as much as possible, which is another reason in which swimming is impossible.
Lily never really had many friends in her younger years, since her father's death sent her into a spiral of depression, and by the time she was stable enough to make friends, her unique style had made her an outcast. When she reached high school, she was so absorbed in her relationship with Robby that she didn't even consider trying to make friends outside of his social circle. So when they broke up, she was alone, and far too afraid to try and make any sort of new friend.
