overall personality: First impressions would show Will to be shy, and maybe a little bit awkward. He is fairly quiet and reserved, though he can be loud and conversational when need arises. He is only really outgoing around those he trusts. He doesn’t really like crowds, either, and will becoming shyer in the presence of more people. Will tends to be more of a follower than a leader. Taking charge isn’t really his strong point. Often times, when his twin is present, Will would just stick close to him.
Will is kind and thoughtful towards others. Unless, of course, they choose to mess with him, his brother, or a friend. When that happens, he becomes very protective. Though, in actuality, he probably couldn’t hurt a fly. He isn’t a fan of blood and gore, and becomes squeamish fairly easily. He does get impatient fairly easily, and doesn’t like to wait. Will is also very trustworthy. Secrets are safe with him. He isn’t one to go about gossiping and whatnot either. He doesn’t lie often.
As his twin, Will also has Lawrence’s cunning. He is just as skilled in the art of manipulation as his brother, and just as clever. However, he chooses not to use it unless absolutely necessary. Unlike his brother, he doesn’t particularly enjoy toying with people or causing mischief. He would much rather stay out of trouble.

extended family: Unimportant aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents still living in Canada

nationality: Half Japanese, one-fourth English, one-fourth French

history: William Grey Valentine, as well as his fraternal twin brother Lawrence Blake Valentine, was born on June fourth to Marie Antoinette Valentine and her husband, Atsushi Iwasaki Valentine, in Montreal, Canada. Will was the older of the twins, having been born five minutes earlier than Lawrence. From the beginning, it was clear that Will was the normal one of the twins. He was a shy but happy child, unlike his twin and got along well with other people.
When the twins were six, the family moved from their home in Canada to New Jersey in the United States. William and Lawrence began first grade in this strange new place. Will was fairly shy, but he managed to make a few friends. He was a very kind and trustworthy friend, and grew more outgoing as they got closer to him. Will often worried about his twin, however. Lawrence didn’t have any friends, and chose instead to toy with the other kids in their school. No matter how much Will tried to talk and play with Lawrence, his brother refused.
Lawrence finally made a friend, and Will was relieved. But then, when his twin’s only friend died, Will was heartbroken for his brother. He felt like he needed to do something, anything, to cheer up his twin. Will felt horrible, and even more so when Lawrence closed himself off once again.
It was when Will was twelve that he discovered the violin. His mother got him and Lawrence lessons, and the two of them learned together. From then on, Will loved music. He went on to learn piano when he was thirteen. By fifteen he could compose simple songs.
The twins’ father was a surgeon, and because of this was not home very often. He spent most of his time at the hospital. Their mother, though only a florist owning a small flower shop, was also not often home. Marie did this on purpose; it was not always for work issues. Because her husband was not often home, she began seeing other men behind his back. Will felt a bit lonely with his parents so often gone. He wished his father could have been home more often. His mother, however, he grew to dislike, since she purposely left the two boys at home to go cheat on her husband.
Middle school was fairly uneventful, except for the family's next move. They relocated to Miami, Florida in the twins' eighth grade year. Will wasn’t really a fan of the beach or warm weather, but he was going to have to deal with it. In their freshman year of high school, Will thought he should do something to help Lawrence open up and make friends. He convinced him to join the drama club with him. Will was thrilled to find that Lawrence loved it; he, on the other hand, also discovered his own stage fright.
As a surgeon, Will’s father hoped one of his sons would one day become a doctor as well. As Lawrence seemed set on acting already, Will decided he, as the older twin, would have to be a doctor. His father took him along to work with him one day. Will discovered the hard way that his stomach wouldn’t be able to handle the work of a doctor. He would have majored in music, but he couldn’t handle the fear of performing in front of others. In the end, he turned to art for his major.
